Cannabis Vs Turmeric: A Scientific Look

Both cannabis and turmeric have been used by people for thousands of years, in fact cannabis has been used for around 5,000 and turmeric has been used for 4,000. When it comes to pain relief, cannabis has been taking the world by storm. While this psychoactive plant can do wonders - we are missing out on the strongest anti-inflammatory in nature, turmeric. If we stack them against each other, cannabis versus turmeric, CBD vs turmeric, cannabis and turmeric are comparable in many ways but one seems to always come out on top. Whether it be CBD and turmeric capsules or turmeric and cannabis oil - the difference between CBD and turmeric is that curcumin (the anti-inflammatory property in turmeric) is more active than THC (the psychoactive compound in cannabis). “Curcumin and THC have both been shown to have several biological activities. However, numerous in vitro and animal studies have shown that curcumin is more active than THC. These comparative biological activities include antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antiviral, neurological, and immunological properties.” - Aggarwal via NCBI
